1 Thessalonians 5:2 …for you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
My hunch is that many of us have encountered the divine in this way as well. We are minding our own business when we find ourselves experiencing the Spirit in some profound way. That’s why I love the Celtic idea of thin places where heaven and earth meet, and we encounter God. Thin places aren’t bound by convention or programmatic necessity. They break into our lives. We stumble upon these thin places while we look for our car keys, dash off an email, or take a walk. May we be open to the unexpected interruption of the Spirit in our lives this day. ‘Forward Day by Day’
