We just returned from watching THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1. It was good as expected.
However I can’t wait for this movie but I hope they don’t gloss over the deep spiritual message that the book emphasizes…
As Janine Turner posted on FaceBook…
“But by the Grace of God I am what I am: and his Grace which [was bestowed] upon me was not in vain;” Corinthians 4:7
UPDATE ON DECEMBER 26..
IN SHORT WITH ’UNBROKEN’- READ THE BOOK— We went to see ‘Unbroken’ yesterday (that is a story by itself). I was DISAPPOINTED. The book is on of my favorites. The book was inspirational and up-lifting. The movie stops before all the really inspiring and up-lifting things in Zamperini’s life take place. After the war and he returned home, he over come alcoholism and his spiritual strength were revived. He was redeemed, his spirit renewed to the point that forgave his Japanese tormentors. These were too important to omit in my opinion.
Sadly two other of my favorite novels: ‘A River Runs Through It’ and ‘The Legend of Bagger Vance’ became poorer stories when Robert Redford turned them into movies.
