Blessed with Hindsight…

The Good Lord Blessed us with hindsight so we may learn from our choices both the good and bad.  He spared us the ability to see the future…

Some are blessed with the Gift of Prophecy.  Thankfully that is not my gift.  That would seem to be a heavy cross to bare.  Imagine even to foresee good things that will happen.  The future good fortunes would be weighed with anticipation and anxiety.  At least with me.  Patience is not a virtue of many of us.  Not foreseeing the bad things is obviously a blessing.

So the gift of patience must accompany the gift of prophecy, at least for most of us.  There is a time for everything as the Bible says: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”  Ecclesiastes 3:1.  Our Blessings must wait until the proper time for His purposes.

My life is filled with Blessed happenings that needed to ripen to the fruitful time.  A major blessing happened  at age fifty three.  At the end of that year my damaged left leg, that was two inches shorter than the right leg, was lengthened.  The short wait from that summer to that fall was hard enough.  Imagine if the time had  been longer, say years.  My anxiety and anticipation would have been emotionally crippling…

Grateful for God’s timing…
