From what I have read, learned and gathered over the years, the Good Lord has a plan for each of our lives. He has a path He has chosen for us. Yet He gave us the freewill to choose to go our own way. That freewill makes us not robots but creatures who can choose to follow Him or veer off on our own. When I stray from His Path I am lost as in a wilderness full of fears. Eventually the pains of those strayings bring back to His Way. His Way is the path of Love.
Those who cross our paths in this earthly life can also force us off His chosen Path. That is the result of their freewill. Those two women who were responsible for my care as an infant choose to be careless. The result was my being burned. That accident changed the course of my life almost from the start. Then moments after their carelessness Sister Barke heard my screams. She lifted me to safety. The Good Lord knew that scene before eternity.
He knows when I wander off His Way. He is there with me even in my wandering. He loves us in spite of our faults. He allows us to decide to love Him. He commands us to, ‘Love Him and to love our neighbors as ourselves.’ He counts on us to help each other stay on the path He has chosen for each of us. With each choice we make it is either His Will or our will. If we Love one another enough help carry one another’s burdens, the Path appears clear. Or as Jesus told us, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11:29-30)
Keeping it simple: it is choosing that His Will be done not mine…
I continue to add to “The Accident” page, although this year has been difficult with the lose of Jan!
