Out of darkness into Light…
Part of my Daily RPMs (Readings, Prayers and Meditations) in addition to reading the Bible is to read CS Lewis’ daily offerings from two of his daily reflections books. I read this following offering each year. It reminds me that I have a daily task of surrendering my stubborn will to the Lord. If I take back the wheel as I drive through this life, I know what the results will be. I have learned the ‘hard way.’ My way can make a mess of life and the lives of those around me. But if I yield to His Will life becomes more than I could ever have expected. The journey becomes breathtakingly beautiful and joy filled…
“In other words, fallen man is not simply an imperfect creature who needs improvement: he is a rebel who must lay down his arms. Laying down your arms, surrendering, saying you are sorry, realising that you have been on the wrong track and getting ready to start life over again from the ground floor—that is the only way out of our ‘hole’. This process of surrender—this movement full speed astern—is what Christians call repentance. Now repentance is no fun at all. It is something much harder than merely eating humble pie. It means unlearning all the self-conceit and self-will that we have been training ourselves into for thousands of years. It means killing part of yourself, undergoing a kind of death. In fact, it needs a good man to repent. And here comes the catch. Only a bad person needs to repent: only a good person can repent perfectly. The worse you are the more you need it and the less you can do it. The only person who could do it perfectly would be a perfect person—and he would not need it.”

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Ephesians 5:17-20 NIV
A few decades ago I emerged from a long dark night of the soul. With help or friends, who showed me how they surrendered, I turn around and headed Home by a different Way. That new journey has been filled with ‘Miracles’ and Blessings. I will continue on this New Way, the Good Lord being my Guide…Let us all Let Go and Enjoy the Journey …
Thanks be to God…
