Bike Riding…

Travel with me in our mind’s imagination down the road…

perfect cadence for biking…

Bike Riding…began in earnest nearly fifty years ago.  Just out of the USAF, back to Florida we came.  My leg had kept me from being sent to Vietnam but it was continuing to plague me.  It would swell, get stiff and hurt.  A famous snow skier, Jean-Claude Killy, of that period was having similar knee problems.  He rehabbed with biking.  Daily I rode.  About 15 or 20 years ago I figured I had ridden around the world five or six times.  It actually began in our garage when I was about 5 or 6.  That is part of “The Accident” story…I Listen to music when I ride.  Jerry Douglas and similar ‘Bluegrass’ artist have a rhythm that is a perfect cadence for biking…Travel with me in our mind’s imagination do the road…

PS … My Emory Sigma Chi Fraternity brother and roommate in dental school ,Leo Borrell, (Leo was in med school) sent me this link about biking and physics.  The article in ‘NATURE’ is written by leo’s son Brendan…
