Hurricane Irma…
We are fine… The eye passed right over us but Jan, Lexi (our rescue dog), and I slept through it. When Irma got to Leesburg it was a category 1-2 with winds of 80 plus.
We are still, Thursday 14th, without power as are a lot of Floridians. The generator I bought in 2005 after that rash of hurricanes cranked right up. Gas is available now to keep the generator running until the power comes back on which the city says will be today. Our yard was covered with debris so it has become a daily job of cleaning up. Today a tree service crew is coming to remove two very large oaks that fell into our yard.
I grew up in Florida with no AC but I was younger and more tolerant then…All in all it could have been worse and our lovely Keys are a disaster….
